For most sheds and outbuildings with a wood floor, a compacted #57 limestone gravel pad drains well, resists settling, and costs less. For garages, heavier structures, or anything storing vehicles and equipment, a poured concrete slab gives you the strength and longevity you want. Yes, when it’s built right. Ohio’s frost depth is about 32 inches, and our region’s freeze thaw cycles are hard on any base that isn’t prepared properly. We excavate, compact, and set proper drainage so water moves away from your structure instead of heaving it over the winter.
